Snow Emergencies:

Council Bluffs- The City of Council Bluffs is declaring that a Snow Emergency Parking Ban for Snow Removal will go into effect at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 and will remain in effect until 3:00 p.m.on Wednesday, February 2, 2011.

The City of Bennington Nebraska has declared a Snow Emergency effective 6:00 p.m. Monday January 31, 2011.  The snow emergency will remain in effect until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday February 2, 2011.

Gretna has declared a snow emergency for Gretna until noon Wednesday

Trash Collection:

Trash and recycling collection for residents on City waste is delayed one day all week. Please
place your waste (recycling and trash) out one day later than your scheduled collection day, and be patient with waste haulers as they overcome difficult weather conditions. Proper placement of waste will help ensure its collection. Placing trash and recycling on top of snow drifts is unacceptable and may lead to uncollected waste. Maintain a clear area around your trash and recycling containers, and ensure that they are not covered by snow and ice. Trash and recycling must be located no further than five feet from the traveled roadway with a path wide enough to accommodate collection and the waste containers.    Please note that this week is a Blue Week, so cardboard, paper and glass containers will be collected. Calendars are on the back cover of the 2010-2011 Recycling and Solid Waste Guide or on the web site at Calendars are dated and valid through March
