Curt fell in love with broadcasting when he was working on a journalist merit badge for his Eagle Scout. His passion was furthered during his senior year when he was the high school weatherperson.
"I can always remember that I started the newscast as, "Good Morning, I'm your channel 6 weatherman Curt Casper, and here is a look at your weather for the next couple of days." It was my signature statement," said Curt.
A native of Nebraska, Curt was born and raised in small-town Lexington. He is a recent 2011 graduate of Hastings College where he studied mass media. During his college career he helped report, anchor, produce and edit for a weekly newscast. Additionally, Curt worked on many video projects, including a promotional video for the Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church Food Pantry here in Omaha.
Curt has had the opportunity of working in three different professional newsrooms. He joins the Fox 42 news team from KHAS-TV in Hastings, where he worked for 3 years as a part-time video journalist, while attending college.
But, Curt is no stranger to Omaha. Last summer he did an internship for an Omaha station. He learned to love the large town atmosphere and couldn't wait to finish school and move back.
Curt loves Husker football and football in general, especially fantasy football. He enjoys sitting on his porch with friends, family, and wife. If you want to get on his good-side, just make him a perfect grilled cheese.
