CRESCENT (KPTM)- Record December snowfall has at least one local operation celebrating. Mt. Crescent Ski Area, located just about 20 miles from Omaha, is seeing its' best conditions in years.

"We have some local instructors who've been skiing here their whole life.  They say they haven't seen conditions like this ever," says Jon J., the resorts operations manager.

Jon says employees have been working with a two–foot base. Skiers and snowboarders who spoke with FOX 42 say they've never seen so much snow so early in the season.

"We've been lucky to get as much snow as we have," says boarder Adam Freeze.

Compared with what folks found the last couple of seasons, they say the recent blizzard made up for a lot. "This is a lot better than the last few years.  There is no ice out there," says boarder Brandon Kathol.

Business was so busy last week, one employee says they nearly ran out of snowboards and skis to rent. The mountain hopes to open inter–tubing this week.
