OMAHA (KPTM) – It doesn't matter if the weather is 60 degrees or if it is below freezing, the Salvation Army Winter Watch helps bring food and clothing to those in need.

Rita Clark has been helping with the program for the last three years. Monday night she braved the cold and gave a warm meal to people near Jackson Elementary School.

"Especially on nights when it is this cold, I have a warm apartment and other people do not so it is kind of that pay it forward kind of thing," she said.

The canteens travel all around Omaha from 6-9 every Monday through Friday until the end of February.

Donations from the Red Kettle drive helps fund programs like the Winter Watch. However, the Salvation Army is still looking for donations of winter weather clothing. Those can be dropped off at any Omaha Fire Department.
