OMAHA (KPTM) – A Fremont based pet food company recalled dozens of bags of pet food on Tuesday because they believe the bagged food was contaminated with Salmonella.
On Tuesday, the company, Natura Pet Products says they made a recall of dog, cat and ferret foods (list provided below). The company says there were no illness related to the recall and did this on a volunteer bases.
Some of the products were sold to companies in Omaha. Those business owners tell Fox 42 News there was no need to panic, as this was a small recall.
"It is just a testament to the quality of these companies that do that proactively instead of waiting until somebody gets sick," said Melissa Hoover owner of Nature Dog.
Products were distributed in the United States, Canada, Korea, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, and Costa Rica. The food contaminated had expiration dates between December 17th, 2013 and January 2nd, 2014.
