CARTER LAKE, IA (KPTM) – With temperatures soaring over 60 degrees on Friday, we might finally be able to say spring is here and that making people who cash in on good weather very happy. Outdoor businesses are ready to get back to work.
One of those businesses is Shoreline Golf Course in Carter Lake, Iowa. It has witnessed one of the worst winters ever. It is a different picture then what it was one year ago; March 2012 was the best.
Brandon Dougherty, Shoreline General Manager said, "We have had people stopping by when we have had snow on the ground just asking when they thought we would get open."
Friday the golf course was packed with golfers hitting golf balls for the first time in 2013. The course was booked between 10 am and 2 pm.
Christy Crème in Council Bluffs is also seeing an increase in business. After closing down during the winter months, the ice cream shop started to get busier once the weather started warming up on Thursday.
Owner David Christiansen said, "If the sun is shining then people are in the mood for ice cream."
