OMAHA (KPTM)- A driver crashed into a house, and one neighbor said she's not surprised.  She's used to hearing car crashes outside of her home.

It's always rush hour outside of Lisa Kush's home near Ed Creighton Avenue and Park Avenue.

"The faster they go, the more noise it makes," said Kush.

She's lived in her house for five years and said traffic hasn't slowed down yet. "Just nothing has gotten done," said Kush.

Police said 21-year-old Carolyn Thompson crashed her way across a field by Kush's home and drove her car into a house nearby.

"She shot straight all the way up here," Kush pointed out. "Just kept going all the way up to the house."

Kush said Thompson sped off after taking driving through a couple of fences and two concrete walls. "It took her at least ten minutes to get out," remembered Kush.

Kush is worried that if nothing is done, accidents will continue to happen. "There are several times that people go through that stop sign and come into the field," said Kush.

Kush said she's contacted the city about possibly adding a speed bump or a stoplight. "It needs to be done, for the safety of people," said Kush.

Kush hopes that the next thing that will make an impact at the intersection will be a stoplight.

Thompson is facing criminal mischief charges, and will be in court in May. Police officials said they're not ruling out a DUI, but are waiting for the blood results.
