Natural Gas Explosion Sparks Huge Fire North of Fremont

Near FREMONT (KPTM) - A natural gas explosion started a very large fire that can be seen for miles between Fremont and Hooper Friday morning.

It happened shortly after 9am. Hooper Fire Chief Mike Schuler tells FOX 42 News the fire is still burning.

Chief Schuler says the explosion happened at a riser station near County Roads 20 and O. No one was hurt.

FOX 42 reporter Maureen Wurtz says the fire can be seen as far as 260th and Dodge Street.

Chief Schuler also provided video he shot of the flames early on.
