OMAHA (KPTM) - Pro-life advocates set up shop near Millard West High School Friday to rally around their cause; a protest that sparked both support and outrage from students and parents alike.

"Some of these kids are only 14 years old and they're just starting high school, so I don't think they need to be seeing that when they're coming out of school," said Scott Gilreath, a concerned parent.

"I think it's a good thing," said Kevin McCawley, a Millard West senior.  "Anything they can do to get the message across more power to them."

Across from the school, signs and pamphlets caused emotions to run high.

"It's a little over the top," said one student leaving the campus.

The organizer of the protest, Virgil Walker, told FOX 42 News his organization is just trying to spread the message about the horrors of abortion.  He believes teenagers are the perfect target audience.

"At an abortion clinic, it's the last line of defense where people have already made up their minds, so we're really trying to engage the students and make them start thinking about this issue."

The group also showed up to the school on Thursday and plan another visit on Monday.  Later this year, members also plan to rally at the Old Market.

The Abolitionist Society and Project Frontlines led the demonstration Friday.
