OMAHA (KPTM)- Accused killer Nikko Jenkins was found guilty of four counts of murder Wednesday.
Douglas County District Court Judge Peter Batallion decided to accept his no contest plea. Prosecutors said Jenkins shot and killed four people in August.
Jenkins was acting as his own attorney and claimed that prosecutors violated his rights and that the prison system denied him mental health treatment.
Jenkins tried pleading no contest to the charges last week but the judge denied his request to do the severity of the case. Jenkins originally pleaded not guilty to the four murders.
Omaha Police detectives said he admitted to the killings after he was arrested. Detectives testified that Jenkins claimed Egyptian gods told him to commit the murders of Juan Uribe-Pena, Jorge Cajiga-Ruiz, Curtis Bradford and Andrea Kruger. The killings started happening after Jenkins was released from prison.
A judge found Jenkins competent to stand trial back in February.
