OMAHA (KPTM)- The Nebraska State Patrol, with the assistance of the Omaha Police Department, conducted surprise commercial vehicle inspections on Wednesday.
They pulled over 77 vehicles and found 407 violations. 38 vehicles were taken off the road.
A total of $7,600.00 in fines were issued.
"Primarily our goal is to inspect commercial vehicles for safe operation on city streets," said Trooper Mike Maytum.
"The inspections make things safe for everyone. We want moms driving minivans to soccer practice to be just as safe as everybody else. This helps with that goal," added Maytum.
