OMAHA (KPTM) - A wreck involving a motorcycle and a car sent one person to the hospital Friday afternoon.
It happened in the Elkhorn area of West Omaha around 1:00 P.M. not far from another crash that killed a cyclist a few weeks ago.
"It's just drive beware," said Coleen Black, who is concerned about her intersection near 222nd and Center Streets.
The crash was so bad a medical helicopter had to be called out to fly the victim to nearby hospital. It was a scene Black has been warning her teenage son about.
"I've told him to not go through that intersection. We hardly ever leave that way because of the hill and the curve."
Investigators are now looking into the possibility the driver of the car didn't stop at a stop sign. Traffic flowing north and south has the sign, but east and west does not. For Black, the wreck should serve as a reminder to everyone to look twice.
"Five, ten seconds or a minute. In the long run it's better to wait than to rush through something."
The Sheriff's Office describes the motorcyclist as a man in his forties. We're told he is in critical condition at a hospital in Omaha.
