Pot Found in House Fire

OMAHA (KPTM)- Omaha Police say a marijuana operation was revealed after a house fire in South Omaha. Two people were hurt in the fire Monday afternoon.

It happened near 48th and L.

 Officials were confiscating the marijuana from the burned house.


Officials have not yet released an exact amount of how much marijuana was taken.

Neighbors in the area said they have seen people come and go from the house, and have heard rumors about it being a pot house.Some people said they are glad to see the marijuana leave their neighborhood.

"I don't like it, really.  Because, you know, my grand kids come over here now and then they're impressionable, he's 16 years old," said Benny Byers who lives a couple houses down.

Police said they will look further into the marijuana find.
