Omaha Teen Brain Dead Following Fight, Two Teens Arrested

OMAHA (KPTM)- A Central High School student is brain dead after getting attacked Friday.  Omaha Police say two other teens are facing charges for that fight.

Police say 16-year-old Aquilee "Keke" Muse was walking with his brother Friday afternoon when two teens
confronted him and got into a physical altercation. Police say Muse hit his head on the sidewalk after getting punched in the head.

He was taken off life support Tuesday afternoon.

Markell Vaughn and Trevaun Ammons are in police custody. They're charged with assault but the charges will likely be upgraded.

The victim's family shared this statement. "Keke was a wonderful, loving and funny kid.  He could put a smile on anyone's face. We always said that he should have his own comedy show. He loved to eat cereal, but more importantly, he loved his family and  friends.  He was deeply involved with church, and carried his Bible in his backpack.  We love him, and will miss his big, bright smile every
day. During this difficult time, we ask you to please respect our family's privacy as we continue to grieve."

The family does not have insurance to pay for funeral arrangements. A spaghetti benefit is scheduled for Sunday at 2pm at the Elk's Lodge in Omaha.
