LINCOLN (KPTM)- Wednesday morning the Nebraska Republican Party hosted a Unity Rally for nominee for Governor, Pete Ricketts; U.S. Senate, Ben Sasse; U.S. House of Representatives, Congressmen Jeff Fortenberry, Lee Terry, and Adrian Smith, and several others elected yesterday.
"Last night was an exciting evening. We appreciate the work of all our Republican candidates who spent time listening to the concerns of Nebraskans during this primary. The voters turned out to support their candidate of choice, and we now move our focus to the general election," said Chairman, J.L. Spray.
"We appreciate any candidate who steps up and puts their name before the voters. I am pleased with their good work and commitment to Nebraska."
U.S. Senator, Deb Fischer also reacted to the results.
"After a long, hard fought primary, Nebraskans have spoken and I am proud of our strong slate of nominees for office in November. I am confident our party will prevail in the general elections because our candidates offer a positive vision for the future - a future filled with more opportunity, more jobs, and a more limited government that promotes economic growth benefiting all Nebraska families. I look forward to welcoming Ben Sasse to the United States Senate; his energy and commitment will serve him well in Washington. I am also confident that with Pete Ricketts as governor, our state will continue to prosper and advance. I look forward to working hard on behalf of our nominees and I encourage all Republicans to do the same. Now is the time to come together and earn each and every vote."
"Congratulations to all of our nominees for their big victories last night. Our party will be well represented with an all-star line-up heading into the general election," U.S. Senator, Mike Johanns said.
