PALO ALTO, Calif., June 2, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Since its creation in 2009, the Business Psychology bachelor's degree program at Palo Alto University has been producing confident, successful business people. We are now pleased to bring you news of recent graduate, Grancia Faith Nansembe who is using her skills, education and passion for her country to open a non-profit children's center in Uganda.
Faith was born in Uganda but raised in Sweden before completing her studies in Business Psychology right here with us at PAU. It was whilst studying at PAU that Faith identified the need for quality children's services in Uganda and so she became an integral part in the creation of the John and Faith Children's Resource Centre. Helping the children of Uganda reach their full potential
The center provides a safe haven for the young children of Uganda, and in these early days it's proving a real help in keeping children off the streets, giving them meaningful activities and challenges. Food, clothing, toys, medical care and shelter are all provided and this nurturing environment is giving the children a chance to reach their full potential.
Good news is the Center offers a range of exciting volunteer opportunities! Selected volunteers will have the chance to spend three months working at the center in Uganda. Housing and food will be provided at no extra cost, although volunteers are responsible for their own flight tickets and any additional expenses.
Faith credits both her Management and Social Psychology classes as well as Personality Assessment classes at Palo Alto University as having really helped to develop her ability to work with international communities and those from different cultural backgrounds.
Lasting change & ongoing opportunity
Dr. Helena Ting, Founder of the Business Psychology Bachelor Degree Program said, "I am extremely proud of Faith and how she has applied her education to create a more compassionate world. We are thrilled that others will have the chance to make an ongoing difference by volunteering to work at the center."
