Residents in North Omaha Evacuated After Flood Waters Rise


OMAHA (KPTM) - Omaha police brought in rescue boats from Eppley to help residents in homes in the middle heavy flooding in North Omaha near Carter Lake evacuate. 

FOX 42 News found an 93-year-old woman was evacuated from her home as waters rose.

The Omaha Police Department arranged for buses to take residents to a shelter at the Florence Community Center. OPD provided security for those people. Residents were being bused out at about 9 p.m.

OPD is working on getting sandbags to 18th and Carter Blvd.
