Money in the Classroom: Kids Learn How to be Smart Shoppers

CINCINNATI, OH (KPTM)- Two–thirds of Americans say they do not save enough. But now some elementary school students are learning how to become good business people, and smart shoppers. A event at the end of the school year called Market Madness for third and fourth graders is a lesson in financial literacy.

Students are learning money basics through the Council on Economic Education's Step Program. Supply and demand, spending and saving are among the lessons they have learned.
