In advance of the 2014 American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference, BiblioBoard® announces SELF-e, in partnership with Library Journal, and Self-Published Rock Starstwo programs focused on connecting self-published authors to library patrons. The company also continues to sign agreements with traditional publishers to license content to libraries in an unlimited multi-user business model that improves the patron experience.
SELF-e is the much-discussed service launched at Book Expo America 2014 (BEA). The service allows any self-published author, regardless of the publishing services they use, to get their ebooks into public libraries through a non-exclusive, free discovery service. Authors can submit their work for consideration to be included in collections curated by Library Journal, and they can opt to include their ebooks in statewide collections, not curated, that will make the works of local writers available via their local libraries.

She is an outspoken supporter of self-publishing and her self-published books have helped to drive a massive grassroots fan base.
These new self-publishing programs enhance BiblioBoards core digital content offerings, which have also grown significantly this year. Libraries can now choose to subscribe to content from nearly 450 publishers in a vast array of categories, including University Presses, Christian publishers, LGBT publishers, such as Dreamspinner Press, and business presses, most recently expanded by the addition of Berrett-Koehler. BiblioBoard will also now be offering lifestyle books from Adams Media, literature by best-selling authors such as Kurt Vonnegut from Rosetta Books and comic books from Markosia Enterprises.
Internationally, BiblioBoard inked deals with Orca Book Publishers and Dundurn in Canada and AndrewsUK in England. Also, their Spanish-language content has expanded beyond the 10,000-book deal with e-Libro to include Red Ediciones and Arbordale Publishing, whose childrens titles are available in English and Spanish.
This selection of self-published and traditionally published content is available in categorical packages at highly affordable prices, making it simple for libraries to add thousands of ebooks to their collections that can all be easily accessed on mobile devices.
